Billy Napier offers injury updates on Ja'Quavion Fraziars, Tank Hawkins
The regular season is just around the corner in college football. With that, Florida Gators head coach Billy Napier shared an injury update on wide receivers Ja’Quavion Fraziars and Tank Hawkins.
Ultimately, Napier didn’t get into specifics about the injuries that either player is dealing with but noted that Hawkins isn’t dealing with a long-term issue while Fraziars’ injury is still to be determined.
“Lower-body injury for Baby-J,” Billy Napier said. “Andy Jean is the other player that has an upper-body injury that will probably take a little bit of time, and then Tank I think is day to day. I think we’ll see where he’s at, but nothing long-term for Tank. I think Baby J and Andy are to be determined.”
Fraziars is going into his fifth season with the Florida program after coming to the Gators as a four-star recruit in the Class of 2020, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He’s since appeared in 42 career games, including a decent amount of time on special teams. He has 15 receptions for 143 yards and three touchdowns for his career.
For his part, Hawkins is in his freshman season with the Gators, coming out of high school as a four-star recruit in the 2024 cycle. Known for his speed, Hawkins is getting comfortable within the receiving corps and managed to snag two touchdown catches in a scrimmage earlier during Fall Camp.
“But Tank’s done well. … He is continuing to improve,” Napier previously said about Hawkins. “He got here in January. He’s had a great offseason. He’s definitely playing faster. His skill level’s improving. He’s getting comfortable.”

Billy Napier provides update on Montrell Johnson injury, timeline
Running back Montrell Johnson is dealing with an injury of his own, which Billy Napier recently shared a separate update on.
“Montrell’s doing great, first of all. … He’s week to week. He’s already on his feet, he’s made significant progress. It will be one week at a time. We’re gonna go at his pace. But we do anticipate it being a very minor issue,” Napier said.
“When we get him back is to be determined. But I think he’s in a good place relative to maybe other situations like that that have been out there in the past.”
