Billy Napier expects Jack Miller to miss first two weeks after thumb surgery
Earlier in the week, the Florida Gators quarterback room took a hit when potential backup Jack Miller underwent surgery on his right thumb.
On Sunday, Florida head coach Billy Napier revealed the timeline for Miller’s recovery. It doesn’t sound like he will miss much time, though he will likely be held out to begin the season.
“So Jack had a thumb avulsion fracture, which is really the same surgery that Drew Brees had just a couple of years ago,” Napier said. “We anticipate him missing I’m gonna say the first two games. We’re hopeful that we get him back for Week 3. He’ll be in a cast for a couple of weeks as that thing grows back together then he’ll start the rehab process. And then I think we’re very much in a competition there for the backup spot.”
