Aiken (S.C.) four-star wide receiver Braylon Staley is visiting Florida on April 12. He announced the news Tuesday on Twitter.

Staley is the No. 198 overall prospect and No. 35 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 5 player in South Carolina.

On3 rates Staley higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is the No. 153 overall prospect, No. 26 wide receiver and No. 4 player in South Carolina.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound wideout announced his top 10 schools on March 18. The Gators made that cut.

“I honestly felt like it was just time,” Staley told On3’s Jeremy Johnson. “I’ve continued to get more offers and everything was just building up on me so I went ahead and made my decision to my parents that now was the time to narrow things down.”

“Right now, no (I don’t have any favorites), only because I haven’t gotten a chance to visit some of the places I want to visit,” he added.

As a result, Staley’s visit to Florida tomorrow may play a big role in the Gators’ pursuit of him going forward. After going to Gainesville, the four-star is seeing Auburn on April 17 and Georgia on April 18.

Florida is off to a great start in the 2024 cycle

Right now, Florida’s 2024 recruiting class contains six players. The group ranks No. 4 in the 2024 On3 Industry Recruiting Rankings and No. 3 in the SEC.

Head coach Billy Napier and his staff do not currently have any wide receiver commitments. However, three Florida pledges are top-100 recruits in Willis (Texas) four-star quarterback DJ Lagway, Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy four-star linebacker Myles Graham and Largo (Fla.) four-star linebacker Adarius Hayes.

“… I’m trying to get the best guys in the class with me,” Lagway told On3’s Chad Simmons on March 13. “Without the players around me, I can’t do anything. I’m trying to get the best receivers, best running backs, best linemen, best linebackers, all of it. I’m really just trying to bring that success back that the fans deserve.”

The Gators’ class also contains North Palm Beach (Fla.) The Benjamin School four-star running back Chauncey Bowens, West Point (Miss.) four-star running back Kahnen Daniels and Nashville (Ga.) Berrien three-star safety Josiah Davis.
