Class of 2024 CB Teddy Foster commits to Florida

Class of 2024 cornerback Teddy Foster of Sarasota (FL) Cardinal Mooney announced his commitment to Florida Friday night.

The 6-foot-2, 175 pounder chose the Gators over Miami and North Carolina.

Foster on why he chose Florida 

“I had a really good conversation with Coach Napier while on my Official and he explained the culture and where he wants to take the program to me and my family. But he explained why he recruited and why I would be a great fit. My family believes that he hit all the points of what I was looking for. And with the huge support staff he has, the coaching/development I would receive being coached by Coach Raymond being one of the best secondary coaches in the country and all the rest of the great coaches and support staff. Also the great efforts Coach Napier puts into making sure his players are taking care and developing to become the best man and football players. I could go on, Florida is the place that checked every box and more.”

Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him

“So I had already started building a relationship with Coach Armstrong, Coach Raymond, and Coach Napier before getting on campus. But spending those couple of days with the staff felt like I had known them much longer then I actually did. The atmosphere and experience with them was very family oriented and they were all very supportive of me and my journey. I would say I’m closest to coach Raymond because he was the coach that drove 3 hours just to watch me practice and has been on me since. I believe they can do a lot with me because with my size and athleticism I can get play man coverage on the outside and do well at cornerback and have the versatility to play some safety too.”

Foster ranks as the No. 670 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 67 cornerback and the No. 89 player in the state of Florida.

The Sunshine State cornerback joins coach Billy Napier and the Gators’ top 3 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by five-star quarterback DJ Lagway, five-star safety Xavier Filsaime, and others.
