Colin Castleton surpasses 1,000 career points at Florida on Saturday

Florida big man Colin Castleton continues make his mark on program history. The Gators center joined the 1,000-point club with his performance in Saturday’s contest against Missouri, reaching the milestone after a basket with 9:35 remaining.
Castleton was a major factor as Florida handed the No. 20 Tigers a 73-64 loss to improve to 10-7. He stuffed the stat sheet to finish with 16 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, three steals and two blocks.
Castleton has carried the Gators all season, leading the team in both scoring (14.9 points per game) and rebounding (7.4 rebounds per game). Making his achievement even more impressive is the fact that Colin Castleton is in just his third season at Florida after beginning his career at Michigan.
When Colin Castleton scored the basket that put him over 1,000 career points, Florida led just 52-48. However, it seemed that play sparked something in the Gators, as they pulled away from there to go on to victory.
