Florida put together an impressive season in 2024 to return to a bowl game despite entering the year with one of the hardest schedules in the country. The Gators went 7-5, including a big-time victory over Ole Miss at The Swamp, to make a bowl game for the second time under Billy Napier. In addition, UF announced the coach will be back after questions swirled about his job status earlier in the year.
The late-season surge also led to a strong run on the recruiting trail into National Signing Day. Florida currently has the No. 11-ranked class in the country after the Early Signing Period, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking. Four-star wide receiver Vernell Brown leads the group as the No. 47 overall player and No. 9-ranked receiver from the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
Florida is now making its final preparations for next week’s Gasparilla Bowl. The Gators will take on Tulane on Dec. 20.
