According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Florida defensive tackle D’antre Robinson has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Robinson wound up spending just one season with the program. He will now once again be on the open market, looking for his second team in as many years.

“Florida defensive lineman D’antre Robinson has entered the transfer portal, @On3sports has learned,” Nakos said via X. “Former four-star recruit posted 16 tackles in 2024.”

Getting into the rotation was not a problem for Robinson during his true freshman season. Florida sent him out there in 11 games. As Nakos mentioned, 16 tackles appear on the stat sheet, as do 3.0 tackles for a loss, and 1.5 sacks. A fumble recovery came in the regular season finale against Florida State too.

Robinson played high school football at Orlando (FL) Jones, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 267 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Texas was the school Robinson committed to originally before flipping to Florida. However, if the defensive tackle plans to play next season, an SEC school is not an option.

Players cannot transfer within the conference during the spring transfer portal window and be immediately eligible. More likely than not, Robinson is heading outside of the SEC.

Former Florida safety setting transfer portal trip to Miami

Former Florida safety Greg Smith III is set to visit Miami on Thursday, he revealed on Wednesday. Smith entered the transfer portal on April 22.

Smith spent one season in Gainesville, totaling three solo tackles and a pass breakup during five games played. His most production came during the rivalry matchup against Florida State, where he logged three tackles during the 31-11 victory.

He played through the entire spring slate for the Gators and was even spending time with the starting unit as expected starter Bryce Thornton has been limited to this point. Thornton spoke highly of his defensive back cohort before the knowledge of his transfer.

“I’ve actually seen a lot of growth from Greg, especially not playing as much in his freshman year as he probably wanted to. But this year, he’s taken a step,” Thornton said. “He’s out there making calls for everybody. So I’m really proud of him for what he’s done and showed the maturity to be a better player.”
