The Florida Gators completed their series sweep of the Cincinnati Bearcats on Sunday with some historic offensive firepower. They blasted eight home runs, shattering the program record for the most home runs in a single game. Florida dominated Cincinnati by a score of 13-7, and a big part of that was thanks to their designated hitter, Jac Caglianone, who hit three home runs.

Check out the impressive video below.

While it’s impressive he hit three home runs, he also pitched on Sunday, throwing a 97-mph pitch at one point. He’s off to a blistering hot start this season for the Gators.

Caglianone recently belted two home runs against South Florida. Not only that, the two-way star also threw nine strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work. This season, he’s currently hitting 11-for-28 with six home runs and 12 RBIs. On the mound, he’s also fired 15 strikeouts in 11.1 innings of work. It’s easy to see why services such as Prospects Live currently list him as No. 18 on their Top 100 MLB Draft prospects for 2024. He’ll undoubtedly be a leading candidate this year for the Golden Spikes Award–given to the best player in college baseball.

Caglianone made quite the splash last season in his freshman year for the Florida Gators. He was named to the 2022 NCAA Gainesville Regional All-Tournament Team and the 2022 SEC All-Tournament Team. He blasted two home runs against Oklahoma at the NCAA Gainesville Regional en route to earning All-Tournament team honors. Caglianone also hit a home run in his first career start against the Tennessee Volunteers on April 24.
