Florida DL Caleb Banks takes shot at Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart following Gators' upset win
Florida defensive lineman Caleb Banks took a pointed shot at Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart on social media following the Gators’ victory over the Rebels.
Banks had his best game of 2024 this past weekend, accumulating 4 total tackles and 2.5 sacks against Dart’s Rebels. He let the quarterback and Ole Miss as a whole know it. Check out the Instagram story post from Banks below, shared to X by Nick Marcinko of GatorCountry.com.
As you can see, Banks’ story features a photo of him standing over Dart, staring at him during this past weekend’s game. The captions reads, “Getcho ass up,” with Dart tagged, so the Ole Miss quarterback is bound to see it, if he checks his Instagram.
It’s one final win over the Rebels for the Gators after they likely dashed their conference rival’s College Football Playoff dream. Banks played a huge role in that, and he’s still feeling the thrill on victory, evidently.
The attitude of the team, and the play on the field, has many Florida fans believing they’re headed in the right direction, a stark contract to earlier this season.

“I would just say we’re just getting started,” Billy Napier said, regarding his team after the win. “I think this is part of the big picture journey. And, look, I think for me, yeah, I’ve watched this group. College football is unique. You play 12 regular season games, maybe you get to play another or two. But I’m around these guys every day. Behind the scenes there’s a lot that happens and a lot that goes on. And we go and we put it on full display 12 times a year.
“So I’ve been saying it the entire time, I just think there was something special about this group. And when the football wasn’t right in the beginning of the year it hurt me a little bit, to be honest with you, because I’ve been watching these guys work and anticipating it would be much improved. So I think I just was consumed with anything and everything that I could do to help them get better. Like how do we fix this? And give them some credit, they were vocal. They took ownership. They collaborated with the coaches, and I think we chipped away at it.”
Caleb Banks and the Florida Gators are going bowling, and they’ll be hoping to end their season with another big win over Florida State this coming weekend. Meanwhile, Jaxson Dart and the Ole Miss Rebels have the Egg Bowl and Mississippi State to worry about, while they hope for some help from the College Football Playoff Selection Committee.
