Florida EDGE Jack Pyburn plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal
Florida Gators EDGE Jack Pyburn plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Pyburn, who has one year of eligibility remaining as a junior this past season, tallied 60 tackles, five tackles for loss to go along with one sack, one interception and one forced fumble in 2024. His 60 tackles finished second on the team.
Pyburn is more than a year removed from suffering a season-ending ACL injury late in 2023 that forced him to miss the final three games of that season.
Pyburn played a big role in what could be his final game with the Gators, recording a strip sack of FSU freshman quarterback Luke Kromenhoek that Florida teammate D’antre Robinson recovered to set up a one-yard touchdown by running back Ja’Kobi Jackson for a 7-0 lead with 2:28 left in the first quarter of the 31-11 win in Tallahassee.

As a member of the Class of 2022, Pyburn was a three-star recruit out of The Bolles School in Jacksonville (Fla.), according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Pyburn was the No. 80 overall prospect in the state, the No. 50 EDGE in the class and the No. 593 overall prospect in the class.
Pyburn would be the 10th Florida player to enter the transfer portal since the end of the regular season, following fellow EDGE rushers Justus Boone and Quincy Ivory, linebacker Deuce Spurlock and cornerback Ja’Keem Jackson on defense, as well as tight end Arlis Boardingham, receiver Andy Jean, and offensive linemen Christian Williams and Mike Williams.
