4-star WR Izaiah Williams commits to Florida Gators
Zephyrhills (Fla.) Carrollwood Day four-star receiver Izaiah Williams has committed to Florida.
He chose the Gators over offers from Miami, LSU, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida State and more than 25 other programs.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Williams is the No. 298 overall prospect in the 2024 class. He ranks as the country’s No. 50 wide receiver and the No. 44 recruit in Florida.
On3, however, is significantly higher on him than other recruiting services. In the most recent On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the country’s No. 233 prospect, No. 43 wideout and No. 33 recruit in the Sunshine State.
April visit was pivotal for Izaiah Williams
Williams visited the Gators for the first time last month after receiving an offer from first-year receivers coach Billy Gonzalez. The trip exceeded his expectations.
“I loved it,” Williams told GatorsOnline. “You know, I came in; it was great energy. They welcomed me like I was here like it was home, great hospitality. Definitely see myself coming back here watching the spring game and just trying to get, you know, used to the family and build that chemistry with everyone else.”
The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder has developed quick relationships with both Gonzales and head coach Billy Napier, making him feel comfortable adding his name to Florida’s commit board after only one visit.

“He was a great man; he was real,” Williams said of Gonzales. “He was a down to earth man. I just liked his energy and how real he was. And I could see him being a really good mentor to me, and that’s what I look for in coaches, so that was really important in meeting him.”
The Tampa native also got a chance to speak with Napier more extensively after chatting with him on the phone a few times.
“It was a real talk,” Williams said. “You know, he doesn’t sugarcoat anything. He’s a real coach, down to earth. He’ll let you know what’s up, but that’s what I look for in a coach. That’s what I like. I don’t like coaches just saying, you know, this stuff is easy when it’s really not. I like real coaches, and that’s what he is.”
Florida continues its recruiting roll
Williams becomes the eighth commitment in the 2024 class for Napier and Co. The Gators now sit at No. 4 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 3 in the SEC.
On the commit list, he joins three-star safety Josiah Davis, four-star saftey Xavier Filsaime, five-star quarterback DJ Lagway, four-star linebackers Myles Graham and Adarius Hayes, and four-star running backs Chauncey Bowens and Kahnen Daniels.
