The Florida Gators kicked off their 2022 season in epic fashion in Week 1, stunning the seventh-ranked Utah Utes 29-26 in The Swamp. On Saturday, quarterback Anthony Richardson and the Gators roll out the welcome mat for a highly anticipated matchup with the Kentucky Wildcats and quarterback Will Levis. Both quarterbacks have drawn plenty of buzz for the 2023 NFL Draft and are currently listed as top 10 overall prospects, according to several mock draft boards. This game will have plenty of hype already with the two top quarterbacks and when you add in the intensity of the rivalry, well that only adds a little bit more juice to this one.

Check out the hype video that Florida dropped ahead of their top 20 showdown with Kentucky.

Not surprisingly, the video includes several highlights from the spectacular matchup that was the Florida-Utah game last weekend. It was one of the best games of the 2022 college football season thus far and the Gators have every right to be savoring the victory.

The win over Utah came down to two clutch plays from Florida

Saturday’s game came down to two critical plays. First, Florida’s electrifying dual-threat quarterback, Anthony Richardson, scored the game-winning touchdown from the two-yard line with 1:25 seconds remaining to put the Gators up 29-26.

Richardson showed freon in his veins in delivering a masterful performance for the Gators when they absolutely needed it the most last weekend. The man has proven that every time he sets foot on the football field, he is must-see TV. He gashed the Utah defense for over 100 rushing yards and three touchdowns on just 11 carries. Truly, Richardson makes the game look effortless at times.

Then, Utah quarterback Cameron Rising drove the Utes down the length of the field and had them in position for a field goal with 22 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Utah got the ball all the way down to the six-yard line, when Rising dropped back for a pass on 2nd and goal. He tried to fire a pass to his senior tight end, Dalton Kincaid. The problem was Kincaid was double-covered in the end zone and Florida linebacker Amari Burney made an incredible leaping interception to seal the upset victory for the Gators with 17 seconds left.

Florida will look to keep the momentum rolling this weekend against a very good Kentucky team. Last year, Kentucky stunned Florida in Lexington, Kentucky 20-13.

Kickoff for Saturday’s matchup between Florida and Kentucky is slated for 7:00 PM EST.
