Despite a poor start to the season and an even worse few months on the recruiting trail for Florida, things turned around in a big way for the Gators on both fronts to end the season.

The school’s administration decided to stand behind head coach Billy Napier, and the team won its final three regular-season games to get bowl-eligible. At the same time, Florida’s class jumped from outside the top 30 nationally to just outside the top 10 after a number of key commitments and flips.

A lot of buzz has been generated around the program in Gainesville, and next week’s Under Armour All-America Game is another good example of that. Seven future Gators, including six 2025 signees, are set to compete.

Of those, three are recruits that they flipped this fall or had to fight off other schools to hold onto, including five-star wide receiver signee Dallas Wilson and coveted defensive lineman Jalen Wiggins.

They’re joined by elite wide receiver signee Vernell Brown III, four-star signees Ty Jackson, Byron Louis and Naeshaun Montgomery, as well as 2026 quarterback commit Will Griffin. According to the Underclassman Report’s Billy Tucker, they will have the most players represented of any school in the country.

The aforementioned Wilson, Brown and Montgomery give UF one of the top receiver classes in the 2025 cycle, with the first two ranking among the top 50 prospects nationally regardless of position. Montgomery is one of the country’s fastest wideouts and an elite deep threat, as well.

Brown, a Gators, legacy, committed to UF in July over a number of other offers. Multiple schools worked to flip him throughout the fall, but he remained pledged to Napier and his staff.

On3’s Scouting and Rankings Team writes this about him as a prospect: “Brown owns a well-rounded skill set with the ability to threaten all three levels of the field. Very loose and fluid in his movements. Has excellent lower body flexibility. Stacks corners off the line of scrimmage. A skilled route-runner with considerable shake. Shows the ability to separate vertically. Truly dynamic with the ball in his hands. Has phenomenal vision in the open field. Slippery and shows high-level contact balance.”

Wilson, meanwhile, was committed to Oregon for more than a year and even signed with the Ducks earlier this month. But after some deliberation, he requested to be released from his financial aid agreement and ultimately signed with the school a little under two hours from home.

Wilson, who caught 41 passes for 677 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2024, is a top-20 prospect in the class and could be an immediately contributor for a talented receiver group around star freshman quarterback DJ Lagway.
