WATCH: Anthony Richardson makes unbelievable play for two-point conversion
The Florida Gators jumped back on top in the slugfest going down in the swamp against the Utah Utes. Running back Montrell Johnson used a clean one-cut move in the backfield to break loose for a 14-yard touchdown run. But on the Gators’ two-point conversion attempt, Anthony Richardson dug deep in his bag for an unbelievable conversion.
On the play, Florida fakes an end-around; but the Utes’ defense was not fooled. Two defenders charged straight at Richardson, anticipating he still had the ball. This is where the creativeness of the Gators quarterback kicks in as he does a throw-away jump fake, spinning out to his right. He then scrambles for a bit until he finds Ja’Quavion Fraziars in the back of the endzone for the conversion.
You can check out Richardson’s memorable moment below.
Florida has since relinquished the lead to the Utes and now trail 26-22 in the fourth. This game looks like it will be a battle of wills down to the wire.

Gators social media reacts to thrilling upset over Utah
The Gators have pulled off one of the biggest upsets of Week 1 in college football after they knocked off the No. 7 team in the nation, the Utah Utes, and they did it in dramatic fashion. On second and goal from the six, Utah quarterback Cam Rising was picked off by senior linebacker Amari Burney who made a spectacular diving interception. And after that exciting finish, everyone was at a loss for words, including the Gators themselves. Shortly after the game went final, Florida posted this on their social media account.
In what will go down as an epic game to start the Billy Napier era at Florida, the Gators showed they have the talent to challenge any team, especially with a star like Anthony Richardson leading the way. Richardson finished the game 17 of 24 passing for 168 yards. However, he did most of his damage on the ground with 11 carries for 104 yards and three touchdowns.
