The Florida Gators are in desperate need of a win on Saturday as they face one of the weaker teams in the SEC.

Unfortunately for Gators’ fans, this is exactly the kind of game that has plagued Dan Mullen and his team this season, so nothing is for certain.

Instead of releasing an over-the-top video to get fans excited—a task that feels herculean at this point– the Florida football social media team dropped a simple social media post showing what the Gators will be suiting up in as they attempt to knock off Mizzou.

No surprise, the Florida Gators are going with the white tops on the road, complimented by the classic orange helmet and blue pants.

Even though Mullen led his team to a heroic comeback over FCS Stamford where a video in the locker room after the game made it seem as if the Gators knocked off Alabama, this is clearly a team in turmoil.

Fans are likely far more concerned with making sure the team doesn’t falter yet again as Mullen attempts to cement himself as the coach of the future.

Will Dan Mullen coach the Florida Gators next season?

There’s no denying Mullen’s resume and track record for recruiting, developing and putting a winning product on the field that can compete with the top teams in the SEC and beyond.

The Gators were SEC East champions a year ago, a touchdown away from unseating Alabama as conference champions and clinching their first College Football Playoff berth, ever.

Things change quickly in college football, especially when the Florida Gators program is involved. The toe-to-toe battle with Alabama, where Florida fell just short, feels like a distant memory.

The team has spun into a steep downward spiral and there’s no question Mullen’s job is now in jeopardy.

If Mullen and his staff are going to lead the Florida Gators beyond this season, the next two games are must-win, beginning with Mizzou.

Missouri has the worst scoring defense in the conference, allowing 35.9 points per game. They are the only SEC team giving up more than 200 yards per game on the ground, and they are well over that mark at 249.6. Florida’s offense notches 492.5 yards per game, which is second in the conference.

In their 10 matchups, the two teams are perfectly even with five wins a piece, but the Florida Gators have prevailed the last two teams met. Last season was a 41-17 drubbing in favor of Mullen’s team and it even included a wild brawl, so that’s something to keep an eye on as the two squads fight for bowl eligibility.
