Florida OL Christian Williams to enter NCAA transfer portal

Florida offensive lineman Christian Williams announced that he will enter the NCAA transfer portal when it opens.
Williams made the announcement on his Twitter account, where he posted a farewell message of sorts to the Gator Nation. A member of Billy Napier‘s first recruiting class, Williams has been on campus for three seasons with minimal impact.
Williams played in two games this season, totaling eight offensive snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. Now he’ll seek more playing time elsewhere.
“After much consideration, I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining,” Williams wrote.

Prior to enrolling at Florida, Christian Williams was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 1,182 overall recruit in the nation in the 2022 recruiting class. He also checked in as the No. 96 interior offensive lineman in the class and the No. 175 overall player from the state of Texas, hailing from Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Marshall.
Williams had warm wishes for the Florida staff on his way out.
“To Coach Napier, Coach Stapleton, Coach Sale, and everyone in the organization who gave me the incredible opportunity to attend such a prestigious university, thank you,” Christian Williams wrote. “I am forever grateful for the brothers and family I’ve gained during my time here, and the memories we’ve created will stay with me forever.
“Thank you, Gator Nation, for your unwavering support and for showing me a side of football I had never experienced before.”
