Florida offers On3 top-15 overall prospect Dominick McKinley

Lafayette (La.) Acadiana four-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinley received an offer from Florida on Thursday night. He announced the news over social media.

McKinley is the No. 54 overall prospect and No. 8 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in Louisiana.

On3 rates McKinley higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is the No. 14 overall prospect, No. 3 defensive lineman and No. 1 player in Louisiana.

The 6-foot-5, 280-pound defender holds 23 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, LSU has a commanding lead for his commitment at 94.3%.

McKinley took an unofficial visit to Alabama last weekend. He broke down some of his schools of interest with On3’s Sam Spiegelman on March 6.

Alabama: “They’re the most-known team out there and I was surprised when they offered me. It’s great to know what Alabama sees in me and they think I can play over there.”

LSU: “They’ve invited me to a lot of their camps and when they talked to me when I was over there for the unofficial visit. They brought me to Brian Kelly‘s office and we talked about academics and how that was the focus over there. Their focus is on trying to graduate their student-athletes and how student is before athlete in student-athlete. That’s what they’re focused on.”

Oklahoma: “They coached a lot of guys into the NFL and it would be a great fit. They said they need me over there and that I would be a first-round draft pick. I thought it (the visit) was good. We watched some film and I liked their style.”

Texas Tech:”They text me a lot and we get on the phone sometimes.”

McKinley has an On3 NIL Valuation of $229K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
