The 6-foot-4 former Freshman All-American (Perfect Game) has pitched in plenty of big spots for the Gators the last two years.
He gave Florida four solid innings in a College World Series game against NC State, while also pitching a solid 3.1 innings in a win-or-go-home regional contest against Oklahoma State.
That said, the overall numbers for the year weren’t glamorous.
Cade Fisher finished his sophomore season with a 4-3 record and a 7.13 ERA, clutching up nine saves in 26 appearances on the mound. He threw 59.1 innings and gave up 67 hits, as well as 47 earned runs. He struck out 76 while walking 29.
He was a little more consistent as a freshman, though not pitching in quite as many big spots.
Fisher’s freshman year ended with a 6-0 record and a 3.10 ERA, while he notched 48 strikeouts in 49.1 innings of work, giving up only 13 walks.

Cade Fisher is not the only Florida player to seek a new home this offseason, as the Gators have had plenty enter the NCAA transfer portal.
Five Florida freshmen enter transfer portal
Five Florida Gators freshmen have entered the NCAA transfer portal. Among those five players who entered the portal, four of them are pitchers.
The four pitchers are Robert Satin, Reilly Witmer, Alex Philpott, and Jacob Gomberg. The position player is Blake Brookin.
The Gators decided to enter the transfer portal following Florida’s run in Omaha at the College World Series. After going 13-17 in SEC play to end the season, Florida was able to go on a run in the NCAA Tournament, making it all the way to Omaha. There, the Gators managed to win two games but had two losses to Texas A&M to eliminate them.
