Four-Star LB Aaron Chiles commits to Florida
Four-star linebacker Aaron Chiles of Olney (MD) Good Counsel announced his commitment to Florida Saturday night.
The 6-foot-3, 225 pounder chose the Gators over Michigan and Maryland.
Chiles on why he chose Florida
“I went up there for my first visit and it felt like home,” Chiles said. “Just the atmosphere and culture that coach Napier had brought to the table the first time I went up there it just felt special. Then on my official just the family environment that Florida gives off. With coach Bateman and coach Armstrong and how they see me fitting in their scheme is perfect for me. I’m just ready to bring a championship to Gainesville and be that playmaker that they were looking for.
Chiles’ relationship with coaching staff stood out + their plan for him
“I’m closest with coach Bateman,” Chiles said. “He has done a great job recruiting me from day one and just keeping in contact with me and building a relationship with me. I believe in what he has in store for me and he has made Florida feel like home. So coach Bateman is the real reason I am a Gator.”
The Maryland linebacker joins coach Billy Napier and the Gators’ top 6 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by four-star safety Xavier Filsaime, four-star quarterback DJ Lagway, and others.

Aaron Chiles Personal Life (via On3)
“Aaron Chiles can do it all, according to Olney (Maryland) Good Counsel coach Andy Stefanelli. “He is a prototypical linebacker with size and speed,” Stefanelli told On3’s The Wolverine. “He can run sideline-to-sideline. He’s also the quarterback of our defense. He makes all the calls and checks. That has to be done in 4 seconds pre-snap. It takes a really intelligent kid to do that and also makes plays in the middle. He’s special. He was a captain as a junior. He does a great job in school and in the classroom. He’s the type of kid you’re happy to coach.”
He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $100K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
