Haslet (Texas) Eaton four-star tight end Jaden Platt has been committed to Stanford since December 16, 2021. But with less than 24 hours until National Signing Day, there’s a new team trending to sign him.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) now favors Florida to land the four-star pass-catcher, giving the Gators an 86.8 percent chance of securing his commitment.

Platt is the No. 224 overall prospect and No. 12 tight end in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 41 player in Texas.

The 6-foot-5, 235-pound Platt recently took an official visit to Florida, and Gators tight end coach tight Willam Peagler conducted another in-home visit shortly afterwards.

Platt has an On3 NIL Valuation of $16.4K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Jaden Platt Scouting Summary

Long-striding tight end who registers as a top athlete and presents a mismatch down the seam. Measured at 6-foot-4.5, 230 pounds prior to his senior season. Has plus length with a 6-foot-9 wing-span. Tests as a top athlete in the combine setting, running an electronically-timed 4.8 second 40-yard dash, 4.22 second shuttle along with a 34-inch vertical and 10’8” broad jump. Often plays flexed out into the slot at the high school level.

Eats up space with his stride length, nearly covering five yards with a step. Most effective at working up the seam and down the middle of the field. Has a large catch radius when he extends, due to the long arms. Will need to progress with his play strength to aid as a blocker. Can also improve on his short area quickness in the game setting relative to his very impressive agility times.
