WATCH: Florida's Jaquavion Fraziars makes insane one-handed TD catch, comes up hurt
With starting receiver Justin Shorter out due to a hamstring injury against Texas A&M, Florida needed other receivers to step up. One of his backups turned in one of the catches of the year for the Gators, hauling in a 19-yard touchdown pass with one hand before an injury on the landing sent Jaquavion Fraziars directly to the sideline and the team’s medical tent.
Fraziars beat Texas A&M defensive back Smoke Bouie, hauling in a fade pass from quarterback Anthony Richardson at the front left pylon in the end zone with his left hand before rolling over on it.
He immediately grabbed his left hand just above the wrist and ran to the sideline, where he was checked out by athletic trainers.
The trainers quickly escorted Fraziars into the medical tent for further evaluation. The touchdown catch gave Florida a 27-24 lead early in the third quarter.
Jaquavion Fraziars emerged from the tent a few minutes later, sporting a tape job just above the glove on his left hand. He was smiling and fist-bumped teammates on the sidelines.
A sophomore, Fraziars entered Saturday’s game with five catches for 35 yards and two touchdowns on the season.

Jaquavion Fraziars stepping up with Justin Shorter out
Shorter, the team’s leading receiver in 2022, has been dealing with a hamstring injury and practiced minimally leading up to the game against the Aggies.
“Minimal. Minimal, yeah,” Napier said Wednesday, asked how much work Shorter’s been able to put in. “Hamstring, questionable at this point. We’ll see where he’s at tomorrow. He’s done some things but been modified. It’ll probably be a game-time decision.”
Evidently, the Gators weren’t satisfied with how Shorter looked ahead of the SEC showdown, as the wide receiver is not suiting up for Florida on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Florida is looking to stay above .500, facing a Texas A&M team that has had its own share of struggles and injuries throughout the course of the season.
Florida led 27-24 with nine minutes remaining in the third quarter at the time of this writing.
