Kevin O'Sullivan breaks down Florida's CWS loss, expects Gators back in same spot next year

For Kevin O’Sullivan, it was about as badly as a season could possibly end. After getting his team to Game 3 of the College World Series Final, O’Sullivan watched on as Florida was blown out by LSU and came up a game short of a championship.
After the game, O’Sullivan broke down the loss and explained why he thinks Florida is going to be in the same spot next season.
“Congratulations to LSU,” Kevin O’Sullivan started. “They certainly earned it today. A really good team that played one of their best games all year at the right time. And tip your cap to them. Offensively, we didn’t really have an answer for them on the mound today.”
Kevin O’Sullivan looked at Florida’s starting pitching as the team’s biggest weakness during the series, costing the Gators in the end.
“I think these last three games, you know, we didn’t get as much as we probably needed to out of our starters. We put a little bit too much pressure on our bullpen early in games, and we were probably playing with fire the last couple of games. And obviously it got to us today.”
At the same time, Florida had a great season and there is a good chance they’re back in Omaha next year.
“So we had a great season. One game is not going to define the hard work and all the accolades that our team has gotten, both as a team, as individuals. Certainly right now it’s very disappointing, but it’s certainly not going to take away from the accomplishments that these guys to my left and everybody else that’s in the locker room right now,” O’Sullivan said.

“It’s a hard pill to swallow right now, but glad we had an opportunity to come back, play for a national championship. And I would expect us to be in the same spot next year.”
Former Florida coach trolled the baseball team
Todd Grantham, a former defensive coordinator for the Florida Gators football team, might still have hard feelings about how things ended. He took to Twitter following the College World Series to troll the Gators baseball team.
“Is there a Run Rule?” Todd Grantham tweeted with the sobbing emoji.
It’s easy to see why Todd Grantham would be angry. Fans were often angry with the performance of his defenses and he was ultimately fired in 2021.
Now coaching the New Orleans Saints defensive linemen, it’s possible that he was just cheering for the local team. However, given his history, that’s not likely.
