LOOK: 2024 top-20 QB DJ Lagway on Florida visit

Willis (Texas) four-star quarterback DJ Lagway recently announced his top 10 schools. Florida made the list.

The 6-foot-2.5, 225 pound signal-caller is on hand for the Gators’ Saturday game against LSU. This weekend marks Lagway’s fourth visit to Gainesville and first since Sept. 10.

Prior to kickoff, Lagway was spotted speaking with offensive analyst Ryan O’Hara, who works with quarterbacks. Lagway previously expressed high praise of O’Hara and the Gators program.

“Coach O’Hara is a really good coach who knows the game and he’s the best in the country, so I’m really excited to see what they do,” Lagway previously told On3’s Sam Spiegelman. “My relationship with the coaches are top tier, one of the best I have with any coaches on or off the field.

“The atmosphere, the family atmosphere seems real. It feels like they’ve been there 10 years,” he said of Gainesville. “They just got there, but I’m excited to see where this program is heading.”

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Texas A&M has a commanding lead to land Lagway’s commitment at 65.3%. Florida has the next-best odds at 13.4%.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Lagway has an On3 NIL Valuation of $130K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Lagway completed 75 percent of his attempts — his first time playing in a new offensive scheme that was installed late in the spring. He’s immensely talented with a live arm and the ability to attack vertically, but Lagway impressed his poise and command of the offense, the ability to extend plays and navigate through his reads and execute exceptionally. He threaded the needle a few times, to a tee. He’s got the makings of an elite QB.”
