On3 Top-50 WR Eugene Wilson III commits to Florida
Florida flipped Marcus Stokes from Penn State and landed a commitment from Treyaun Webb earlier this week. Now Eugene Wilson III has added his name to the Gator’s commitment list.
Before Florida offered late in February, Alabama and Georgia were on top for Wilson. Shortly after the Gators offered the 5-foot-11, 162-pound four-star wide receiver, he visited Gainesville.
Since March 1, the No. 48 prospect in the On3 Consensus out of Tampa Gaither has visited the Swamp four times. Texas A&M was the other finalist, but Wilson stayed in state.
Other schools gave him something to think about, but Wilson grew up a fan of Florida’s and he likes the atmosphere at his future home.
“Florida was my dream school growing up, so to have this connection, and to feel this way about Florida, is different,” Wilson told On3.

Billy Napier, Kerry Colbert, Sean Spencer, and other staff members in Gainesville played a role in this decision.
“Everyone is cool up there and I just feel comfortable around them. Coach KC is great, but coach Spencer, coach Napier, and all of the staff have treated me great.”
Napier and the new staff at Florida is less than two months from kicking off the season and Wilson will be there for many games.
“The atmosphere is positive and the fans are great. Everyone is excited to be there.”
