Steve Spurrier provides custom pregnancy announcement for Florida Gators couple

Steve Spurrier wears plenty of hats and he might just have a new one that he’s trying on for size.
How about a customized Steve Spurrier message as a pregnancy reveal? One intrepid Florida fan couple got the idea and made it happen, working their way onto the Head Ball Coach’s busy schedule to announce the news to their family and friends.
A user named gingerbeardguy posted video of the message Spurrier recorded for them to the r/FloridaGators subreddit over the weekend. You can check it out below.

“Hi there, this is Steve Spurrier, former Gator head ball coach here,” Spurrier said in the video. “And this is to all the friends and family of Justin and Abigail. They have asked me to make an announcement, and the announcement is they are having a baby, a Gator baby, coming in August of 2025.
“So congratulations to Justin and Abigail, and I’m sure all the family and friends are fired up and excited about this event. So take care and congratulations to Justin and Abigail. Go Gators!”

It’s amazing to see the head ball coach essentially inking his own NIL deals at the age of 79. The Reddit user gingerbeardguy revealed that it cost $229 to get Spurrier to deliver the custom message.
Not bad if you’re a diehard Florida fan and want a special touch for your big announcement.
Steve Spurrier shouts out Dick Vitale
For the first time in two years legendary broadcaster Dick Vitale returned to the airwaves for ESPN, calling a college basketball game between Clemson and Duke.
It was an emotional moment, one in which Vitale found himself supported from across the globe.
Just about everyone in the sports world was overjoyed to see him back behind a microphone, including Spurrier. Spurrier opened up on what the moment meant.
“Dickie Vitale’s back. Dickie V was back,” Steve Spurrier said on Another Dooley Noted Podcast. “He was doing the Clemson and Duke game. And of course I was pulling for Duke, my old school, but Clemson sort of outplayed them right at the end, made all their free throws and upset Duke, who was No. 2 in the nation at that time.
“And Dickie Vitale was on the microphone, and he’d been out a couple years with that cancer treatment and so forth. So it was good to see him come back and do well.”
