The SEC Network brought college football fans across the country plenty of excitement on Wednesday night, when they revealed the 2024 SEC conference schedules for all the different SEC teams for the 2024 college football season. Their analysts did a great job of breaking down the different schedules for all of the teams, including the newest members of the SEC, the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns. Both Oklahoma and Texas will begin their first season in the SEC during the 2024 campaign. On Wednesday night, Tim Tebow decided to share with us his thoughts on the Florida Gators schedule for the 2024 season.

“Listen, I love it because of all the big games. I love it because we get to play for a state championship, which to me, as a Florida boy growing up here, playing high school football as well, it means so much to compete to be a state champion,” Tebow began. “But then, the rivalries. To still play against Georgia, Tennessee, LSU…The Kentucky game is becoming a big rivalry.”

The former Heisman Trophy winner simply couldn’t contain his excitement for the Gators’ 2024 slate and getting the opportunity to play the Texas Longhorns.

“So, I love it. Those games, they just mean a little bit more than most others. We still have those in play,” Tebow continued. “I love adding one more game to conference play — Texas, OU, those are going to be great games now, in the SEC. Getting to play Texas for Florida, that’s going to be awesome. I just think there’s better games to watch and I’m super excited about it.”

Tim Tebow says Texas, Oklahoma additions are ‘great for the SEC’ and the programs

Tebow also shared his excitement to have both Texas and Oklahoma in the SEC. The two schools are joining a year earlier than expected, but there’s plenty of buzz about what they’ll bring to the league as it moves to 16 teams.

Tebow especially pointed to how both sides — the SEC and the programs — will benefit from the move. Considering the high profiles of the conference and the schools, he said it’s a win-win for everyone, especially since the SEC has solidified itself atop college football.

“I’m just so excited,” Tebow said. “I think it’s great for the SEC. I think, overall, it’s great for Texas and it’s great for Oklahoma. Fantastic brands. People know their brands, nationwide. Shoot, I’ve been in a lot of other countries and I see the Longhorns so many places and OU so many places.”

“I just think it’s great for the SEC. I think the SEC is continuing to establish dominance. Great teams, great brands. I’m so excited to watch these teams play week in and week out in the SEC,” said Tebow.
