In the first four innings of Florida’s matchup against Oklahoma State, pitcher Keagan Rothrock did not allow the Cowboys to score a run. During a break in the action, Florida head coach Tim Walton evaluated his freshman pitcher’s performance thus far.

“[She’s been] good so far,” Walton said. “Obviously, she’s keeping us right there where we can and is giving us a chance to make adjustments. When you got a 0-0 game through three [innings], that’s what she’s been doing. She’s really given us a chance this year. She’s one of the main reasons we’re here. I’m really proud of her performance so far.”

In four innings, Rothrock only allowed one hit and two walks while throwing two strikeouts. Rothrock has not thrown a wild pitch in the game. This game is Rothrock’s first time on the mound in the Women’s College World Series.

She is yet to allow any nerves to show. Rothrock’s unfazed demeanor is no surprise for familiar fans. In 233.2 innings pitched this season, the Florida freshman boasts a 30-6 record and a stunning 2.34 ERA.

Rothrock has recorded 24 complete games this season and is hopeful to add another to the list against Oklahoma State. Keagan Rothrock entered the showdown on Thursday with an impressive 186 strikeouts, nearly three times more than Florida’s next-best pitcher.

The winner between Florida and Oklahoma State will advance to face off against No. 1 Texas at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday.
