WATCH: Anthony Richardson enters, takes over for Florida offense
Following an Emory Jones pick-six, Anthony Richardson entered the game for a Florida team looking for a spark. As he’s done all season long, Richardson provided it and then some.
Down 28-13, Richardson led an 8-play, 75-yard drive that culminated in a 5-yard touchdown run.
After weaving his way through traffic for the touchdown, Richardson did the same thing on a two-point conversion. All of a sudden, the Gators were back in the football game after the momentum swung back to LSU.
Earlier in the game, Richardson threw an interception that led to an LSU touchdown drive. Now, he’s made good on his mistake — bringing the Gators back within striking distance.
Jones had a rough day, but Richardson has been on absolute fire since taking over for him. Following his touchdown run, Richardson has thrown for for two scores.
First, he found Justin Shorter for a five-yard touchdown reception. On the next drive, he tied the game when he found Dameon Pierce for an 11-yard score.

WATCH: Florida’s Hail Mary TD vs. LSU
The Florida Gators did not get off to a hot start on Saturday against LSU. The Gators struck first with a seven yard touchdown run from Dameon Pierce in the first quarter, but the extra point was blocked. LSU controlled things from there, but Florida got back on the board on a miraculous Hail Mary as time expired in the second quarter.
LSU went up 21-6 in the second quarter after Florida threw interceptions on back-to-back throws. One was from Emory Jones, and the other was by Anthony Richardson. Florida easily could have run the clock out and gotten to halftime, but head coach Dan Mullen opted to try and get some points to end the first half.
Florida drove down the field from its own 23-yard line, eventually finding the end zone as time expired. Emory Jones launched a ball into the right corner of the end zone, and Justin Shorter came down with the 42-yard touchdown. LSU did not even appear to attempt to knock the ball down.
