4-star EDGE Amaree Williams commits to Florida State

Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Benjamin four-star EDGE Amaree Williams has committed to Florida State.
Williams chose the Seminoles over offers from Florida, Miami, Kentucky and more than a dozen other programs.
He was previously a Class of 2025 prospect, but announced his reclassification in mid-December. He followed up with an official visit to Florida State just before the Early National Signing Day.
“I love their family aspect,” Williams told Warchant in December. “You know, a lot of people may say that, but it’s like true here at Florida State. So I feel like that was a big thing for me. I was able to see that throughout my whole weekend. See coaches’ kids, wives, you know, whole family … that was big.”

He also got a chance to spend time with Seminoles head coach Mike Norvell while in Tallahassee.
“He told me everything I wanted to hear,” Williams said. “They talk about head coaches are salesmen at the end of the day. But you know, he’s more than just a salesman. He’s trying to put players in the right situation, trying to see them grow and see them be the best they can be. It’s not just about Florida State; it’s about the players ourselves.”
The 6-foot-4, 205-pounder is the nation’s No. 169 overall prospect and No. 16 edge rusher in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 23 recruit from Florida.
