On3 has updated its recruiting ranking for the 2024 class following the completion of the high school regular season for prospects. Miami (Fla.) Central defensive lineman and Florida State commit Armondo Blount checks in as a five-star and the No. 20 overall prospect in the latest 2024 On300.

Blount reclassified from the Class of 2025 last month and then flipped his commitment from rival Miami to the Seminoles.

The latest edition of On3’s 2024 rankings features 20 five-star players, up one from the previous update in September. Of those 20 prospects, 19 are already committed to college programs.

While some recruits may have played their last down as a high schooler, evaluations — both in-person and on tape — are far from over. This latest ranking sets the table for the important final ranking in January 2024. That last update comes after postseason all-star games, where top prospects across the country face off during a week of practices and end with games in Orlando and San Antonio. Following those evaluations, the 2024 On300 will finish with 32 five-star prospects.

Armondo Blount Scouting Summary

“Versatile, athletic defensive lineman who is capable of creating disruption from any spot on the defensive front. Looks like one of the more physically-gifted defenders early on in the 2025 cycle. Measured in at close to 6-foot-3.5, 250 pounds. Has the size of a future defensive tackle but the athleticism and pass rush skills of a top EDGE prospect. Flashes a plus first-step and quick hands both on Friday nights and in camp settings.

… Turned in a dominant sophomore campaign at Miami Dillard, showing advanced pass rush skills as a stand up rusher. Lives in the backfield, using his athleticism, strong hands and instincts to make plays behind the line of scrimmage. Also doubles as a top track and field athlete, with a personal best of 55-6 feet in the shot put. Remains to be seen where he’ll end up from a size perspective, adding to some ambiguity around his position long-term.”
