Destyn Hill identifies area he’s seen Florida State improve most
Florida State wide receiver Destyn Hill saw a lot of improvement around the football program going into the 2023 season.
Speed is the name of the game around Florida State. That’s exactly what Hill saw since last season where the Seminoles ended hot and gave themselves a lot of expectations going into this fall.
Hill, who has yet to play for Florida State, enrolled this May after not being with the program since he signed in 2021. But looks like he’s up to speed.
“I noticed that the play has gotten a lot faster,” Hill said. “Everybody has been doing amazing really. So that’s all. We’ve all been seeing it. Everything has just been amazing. So I just hope to jump on the train and get on a train and give what I have to offer.”
Hill had the start of his college career delayed due to a personal matter. But regardless, he’s here now.
“As you asked me the question, my mind started moving,” he said. “It’s just an amazing feeling. It’s a feeling like no other. Right now, I’m just going through it. That’s all I can say is it’s just amazing and more than I could explain. I’m at Florida State University. That just adds more icing on the cake for me.”

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
All throughout the past two years, Hill stayed in touch with members of the Seminoles coaching staff. That gave him confidence that, despite the long wait, he would arrive in Tallahassee eventually.
“I never really worried about it because we kept the communication,” he said. “So when the time came, the time came. I’m here now and I’m ready to move forward.”
What kind of role will he have? That remains to be seen. But the potential is tantalizing.
It must be considering the staff stuck by Hill over the last two years and welcomed him in with open arms in 2023.
As a member of the Class of 2021, Hill was a four-star recruit out of New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 5 overall prospect in the state, the No. 18 wide receiver in the class and the No. 112 overall prospect in the class.
