Former Drexel shooting guard Kobe Magee has committed to Florida State out of the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Jamie Shaw has learned. Magee is a top 50 transfer portal recruit, and a top 10 player at his position.

The 6 foot 6 guard visited Florida State over the weekend. Now, he will be a part of first-year head coach Luke Loucks’ initial roster in Tallahassee.

Magee spent the first three years of his college career at Drexel. After appearing in 55 games during his first two seasons and making no starts for the Dragons, Magee made the starting lineup in all 33 of the games he appeared in this past season. His minutes average jumped from 18.2 as a sophomore, to 33.7 this past season.

With those extended minutes, Magee exploded for career highs across the board including a 14.0 points per game average, as well as 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists. He scored a season-high 28 points during the second game of the regular season during a win against Colgate. Magee helped lead the Dragons to an 18-15 season as the team’s leading scorer.

As of Wednesday, March 26, over 1,250 Men’s College Basketball players have entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. That number is expected to grow as the 2024-25 college basketball season nears its end.

The 6-foot-11, 220-pound Nitu appeared in 22 games for FSU this past season, averaging 1.9 points, 1.3 rebounds and 6.9 minutes per game as a true freshman.

Nitu was a three-star recruit out of Fort Erie International Academy in Toronto (Canada), ranked as the 39th power forward in the 2024 class and No. 25 prospect from Canada, according to On3’s Industry Rankings, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Nitu was also a member of Team Canada’s under-17 national team that participated in the 2023 World Cup.

Nitu becomes the latest FSU player to hit the portal, joining fellow freshmen forwards Waka Mbatch and Anastasios Rozakeas, sophomore forward Taylor Bol Bowen and junior guard Chandler Jackson since the portal officially opened
