ESPN broadcast crew provides update on Florida State's Treshaun Ward
The Florida State Seminoles are without one of their stars out of the backfield and running back Treshaun ward. Ward went down with a shoulder injury in the Seminoles’ loss to NC State this past Saturday. But during the first quarter of Florida state’s matchup against the Clemson Tigers, ESPN’s Holly Rowe provided an update on the injury.
“A big injury for Florida State tonight. They’re without one of their best rushers, Treshaun Ward, who was injured in the game last week. This was very difficult against NC State, going down hard on that shoulder joint,” Rowe stated. “He was taken to the hospital and had scans and X-rays. Mike Norvell said it’s actually good news; they’re not sure that he’s gonna be out as long as they feared. So they’re hoping that he can get back soon.”
Ward is a significant part of the Seminoles’ offense, as he leads the team in attempts (72) and yards (488). And on the roster, only wide receiver Deuce Spann has a better rushing average than Ward’s 6.8.
Despite his absence early on, Florida State is having success running the ball against Clemson’s front 7. Heading into the second quarter, Florida State has 72 rushing yards with one touchdown. That touchdown was courtesy of quarterback Jordan Travis on the opening drive of the game.

Travis give Florida State the early lead with 20-yard touchdown run
Seminoles have struck first in their Saturday night game against the Clemson Tigers. The Seminoles capped off a 75-yard drive with a 20-yard touchdown run by quarterback Jordan Travis.
On a second-and-12 from the 20, Travis takes a snap on an option read play. After reading the defense, he elects to pull the ball from running back Lawrence Toafili and take it himself. With just the edge defender on the line to beat, Travis makes a nifty cut to the inside, freezing the defender in his place, and takes off up the field untouched into the end zone for the early touchdown.
Florida State currently leads 7-0 early in the first quarter.
