Florida State agrees to new three-year contract with DC Adam Fuller
The Florida State Seminoles finished with an undefeated 13-0 season this year. A massive part of that success this year was their dominant defensive unit, led by defensive coordinator Adam Fuller. On Thursday evening, the Seminoles rewarded Fuller with a new three-year contract extension. The extension includes a raise, according to Pete Thamel of ESPN.
According to USA Today, Fuller was the highest earning assistant coach on the ‘Noles coaching staff this year, bringing in $1.2 million. And his unit established themselves as one of the best in America.
The Seminoles finished No. 6 in the nation in scoring defense this year, and it was a big reason why they went undefeated and won the 2023 ACC Championship.
The Florida State defense stepped up when the team needed them the most, basically shutting down the Louisville offense entirely in the 2023 ACC Championship Game. The Cardinals only managed 188 total yards the entire game, averaging just 2.7 yards per play.
The Seminole front seven was virtually unblockable for most of the contest, racking up a season-high seven sacks and forcing an interception from Cardinals quarterback Jack Plummer. Once the dust had settled, the FSU defense had 14 tackles for loss and 10 pass breakups in one of their most dominant performances of the 2023 campaign.
Retaining Fuller’s services will be critical for the foreseeable future for FSU, but more importantly in the Seminoles’ upcoming Orange Bowl matchup with the Georgia Bulldogs. That one will be played on Saturday, Dec. 30th. Kick is set for 4:00 PM EST.

Texas A&M had reportedly shown interest in Fuller in the past few days, according to Brandon Marcello.
Fuller has been with Florida State since December of 2019, coming from the Memphis Tigers with head coach Mike Norvell. In 2019, the Memphis defense ranked 20th in pass efficiency defense and 25th with an average of seven tackles for loss. The Tigers also forced 18 turnovers, returning two of those for touchdowns.
Before his one season with Memphis, Fuller spent from 2013-2018 with the Marshall Thundering Herd. In 2013-2016, he was their linebackers coach. Then in 2017, he worked with their special teams unit. Then in 2018, Fuller worked with the safeties.
Before Marshall, he spent time with Chattanooga as their defensive coordinator (2009-2012). He had a very brief stint as the head coach at Assumption College in 2008. And he also worked with the Richmond Spiders as their linebackers coach (2006-2007).
