Seminoles coach Link Jarrett spoke with the ACC Network during the game about how he decides how long to leave in pitchers and where he feels like Florida State is at from a bullpen standpoint.
“You have to eyeball it this time of year. These guys are ready to do it. It’s more the accumulation of workload than what has happened in this one game. So we’ll have to eyeball it,” Link Jarrett said. “We have some guys that are ready to go and relatively fresh. So that’s good. [Wake Forest] had to go through the long ballgame last night so you would hope on our side of thing the bullpen may be a little it fresher.”
Wake Forest played a 12-inning back-and-forth game against North Carolina Friday night, before eventually pulling away for the victory.

According to the ACC Network, Wake Forest left Truist Field at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday, before returning to the ballpark at 11 a.m. for the matchup against Florida State.
As for the Seminoles, they out-slugged Virginia for a 12-7 win to advance to the semifinals.
Florida State has gotten production up and down its lineup against the Demon Deacons as five different players have recorded hits. FSU has also gotten on base with free passes thanks to two walks and two hit by pitches.
Jarrett also spoke with the ACC Network about the bottom of the order coming up big.
“Well, it’s huge. And the at-bats and the hit-by-pitches and the ball that [Drew] Faurot rolled through there. You’ll take them any way you can get them. Some of those hit-by-pitches and the free bases give you a chance to have something like that happen,” Jarrett said. “And I think both sides have taken advantage.
“We walked the leadoff guy in the first two innings. Their little base hit bunt that fell in here. Sometimes those freebies give you a chance to push runs across, and that’s what happened. [Josh] Hartle’s doing a really nice job of mixing everything, so it’s keeping our guys off balance. Hopefully, Hultsy can settle this thing down a little bit and we can hang in there.”
