Florida State star pass-rusher Jared Verse has made his decision on the 2024 NFL Draft, and the talented edge defender will be forgoing his remaining eligibility and entering the 2024 NFL Draft.

Jared Verse has been an absolute revelation for Florida State since transferring in prior to the 2022 season.

He was a major part of the Seminoles managing to go unbeaten in 2023, particularly down the stretch as Florida State had to lean on its defense with starting quarterback Jordan Travis injured.

During the 2023 season, Verse tallied 34 tackles, 9.0 tackles for a loss. 6.0 sacks, a blocked kick, a fumble recovery and three passes defended.

That came on the heels of a similar 2022 campaign.

In two years at Florida State he logged 70 tackles, 12.0 tackles for a loss, 7.0 sacks, two blocked kicks, two fumble recoveries and three passes defended.

Prior to going to Florida State, Jared Verse played in 15 games at Albany, where he racked up 74 tackles, 21.5 tackles for a loss, 14.5 sacks, 15 quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and one pass breakup.

Jared Verse’s letter to Florida State faithful:

Below is Jared Verse’s full letter to Florida State, shared to X (formerly known as Twitter) as he made his announcement.

“I am filled with gratitude as I reflect on my time wearing the garnet and gold,” Verse wrote. “Playing football for the Seminoles has been an extraordinary journey, one that has shaped me in ways words cannot capture. The support from the coaching staff, my teammates, and the entire FSU community has been invaluable.

“I sincerely appreciate the lessons learned and the growth experienced here. That said, I will be declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft and will forego any post season games. Competing at the next level is not just an individual pursuit but a reflection of the foundation I’ve built at Albany and continued to lay at FSU.

“Fueled by the passion and dedication instilled during my time at Florida State, I know I am ready for any and all challenges that may come my way. I am proud to have represented this university and excited to carry its legacy forward on the professional stage.

The 2024 NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Michigan, with the first round on Thursday, April 25, the second and third rounds on Friday, April 26, and the fourth through seventh rounds on Saturday, April 27.

Players will have the opportunity to solidify their draft stock at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana from February 26 through March 4.

The three-day event will be broadcasted throughout the weekend on ESPN and NFL Network.
