Florida State forward Baba Miller announces decision to return to Florida State
Florida State forward Baba Miller has elected to return to the Seminoles in 2023-24, according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. He posted the following report in a tweet on Friday morning announcing the Miller news:
“Baba Miller will return to Florida State next season, he told ESPN. The 6’11, just turned 19-years-old Spanish wing is a potential first round pick in 2024. Will represent Spain at the FIBA U19 World Cup this summer.”
A four-star prospect and top 100 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, Miller entered his freshman season with high expectations. The numbers did not exactly pan out to what some had hoped to see from Miller, though. Miller averaged just 4.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game this season. Miller played just 15 games and averaged 17.3 minutes per game while he battled injuries. He did not make his debut until January 11.
Miller scored double digits just twice in the 15 games he played this season. Miller scored 11 points in a late January loss to Clemson and 12 points in a rematch with the Tigers the following month. In the Seminoles’ season-ending loss to Georgia Tech in the ACC Tournament, Miller had four points and eight rebounds in 17 minutes of game action.

More on the 2023 NBA Draft
The 2023 NBA Draft is set to take place on Thursday, June 22, 2023, in Brooklyn at Barclays Center. Round 1 of the draft will be announced by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, while Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum is expected to handle the second round of picks.
To be eligible for the NBA Draft, players must be at least 19 years in age during the calendar year that the draft is held and at least one NBA season from their high school graduation date, or the date that would have been if they are not graduated. It is not required that player spend that one year playing college basketball, though. Players can play in either college, abroad, or the G League Ignite if they choose so.
While this is a significant change from what the rules once were, players are eligible to enter their names into the NBA Draft pool and explore their options by hiring an agent to go through the process, while still keeping their college eligibility. The deadline to make that move is on April 23 beginning at 11:59 p.m. ET. Players have until June 12 at 5 p.m. ET to withdraw their name from the pool and return to college.
The NBA Draft Lottery will be held on May 16, which is also the start of the NBA Conference Finals.
