FSU QB Jordan Travis starts second half against Syracuse after injury
Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis was banged up late in the first half of Saturday’s game against Syracuse. Travis took a tough hit during Florida State’s last drive of the first half and stayed down for a few moments, before eventually getting up and staying in the game.
He played the next two plays but headed to the locker room after the possession. It appeared as though his left hand or left wrist was bothering him. However, Travis returned and was able to start the second half against the Orange.
Here is the hit that left Jordan Travis banged up and forced him to leave the first half early for the locker room.
Travis was playing well in the first half, prior to going down with the injury. He was 14-for-23 for 186 yards and a touchdown in the opening two quarters. Travis also rushed for a touchdown to help the Seminoles take a 17-3 lead into halftime.
This isn’t the first time Jordan Travis has been banged up this season. The senior also went down with an injury against Boston College earlier this year. Travis did return to that game, just like he was able to return on Saturday against Syracuse.
Florida State WR Keon Coleman makes crazy one-handed catch vs. Syracuse
The favorite target for Jordan Travis against Syracuse has been star wideout Keon Coleman.
With Johnny Wilson out, Coleman has gotten more opportunities and taken advantage of them.
That includes during the first quarter when he made an insane one-handed grab.
Coleman jumped up and made a crazy one-handed snag for a 27-yard gain during FSU’s opening drive.
The play led to a touchdown as FSU took an early 7-0 lead. You can watch the crazy catch here:
Keon Coleman had four catches for 44 yards during the first quarter on Saturday against Syracuse. He entered the game with 20 catches for 268 yards and six touchdowns on the year.

FSU QB Jordan Travis capped off the opening Florida State drive with a 2-yard touchdown run to give the Seminoles an early 7-0 lead.
As for Wilson, he left last week’s win over Virginia Tech early in the second half with an injury. FSU head coach Mike Norvell was unsure how serious the injury was immediately after the game. However, Wilson Tweeted a positive update following the matchup.
“I’m straight! Love these boys man!” he posted.
Norvell did provide an update on Wilson earlier this week and said that he was hopeful he would be able to play.
“Yea, you know, I mean it’s going to be something that we see as we go throughout the course of the week,” Mike Norvell said on Monday. “Johnny was feeling better yesterday. And so we’re excited about where we think it can go. But ultimately, you take it day-by-day this week. I thought he did a wonderful job there in the first half on Saturday. He really has taken his game to another level just in how he played and what he’s been able to do. So hopeful to be able to get him back rolling here early in the week.”
