Florida State WR Keon Coleman out for Pitt game
Florida State star receiver Keon Coleman is out for Saturday’s game at Pitt. The junior is not suited up for the ACC showdown, according to Warchant.
Coleman has been the best receiver for the Seminoles this season and is one of the top wideouts in the country.
The Michigan State transfer has 38 catches for 538 yards and nine touchdowns this season. He is also the starting punt returner for Florida State.
Keon Coleman caught seven passes for 66 yards and two touchdowns last weekend against Wake Forest. He has two games of over 100 yards on the year.
Florida State and Coleman are having a great year as FSU is 8-0 entering Saturday’s game against the Panthers.
Florida State WR Johnny Wilson also out vs. Pitt
In addition to Keon Coleman, fellow Florida State receiver Johnny Wilson is also not playing against the Panthers.
Wilson has not played since exiting Florida State’s win over Duke on October 21. The offense hasn’t missed that much of a beat with Keon Coleman’s dominance though.

However, having Wilson in the lineup makes life that much easier for quarterback Jordan Travis.
So far this season, Wilson has 25 catches for 415 yards, two touchdowns and 16.6 yards per catch. Since coming to Florida State, Wilson has 68 catches for 1,312 yards, seven touchdowns and 19.3 yards per catch.
As a member of the Class of 2020, Wilson was a four-star recruit out of Calabasas (Calif.) High, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 23 overall prospect in the state, the No. 49 wide receiver in the class and the No. 283 overall prospect in the class.
Head coach Mike Norvell provided an injury update on Wilson following the Duke game on October 23.
“We’ll see where it is,” Norvell said. “I can tell you Johnny was in a really good place yesterday coming out of the game. Destyn (Hill) got more work yesterday in practice than he did in the previous week. Excited to see where those guys go as the week progresses.”
While that update was positive at the time, Wilson won’t be in uniform Saturday.
“[I told him] to go get better,” Norvell said of Wilson in September following early season struggles. “Johnny is a great player. He did a good job on his routes. Obviously he put himself in a good position, just had a couple times when he hit the ground, the ball rattled loose. Nobody wants that in that moment. It’s what happened.”
