Leonard Hamilton announces sophomore guard Chandler Jackson suspended indefinitely
Warchant.com reported Sunday night that Florida State head basketball coach Leonard Hamilton announced that sophomore guard Chandler Jackson has been indefinitely suspended from the team. The reasoning behind the suspension has not yet been reported.
Jackson started in just one game during his freshman season at Florida State last year, averaging 3.6 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game in his 29 game appearances.
He came on stronger during the second half of the season, where he logged double-digit minutes per game in the final 12 games of the season for the Seminoles. He achieved double-digit points in two games toward the end of the season, scoring 10 points in back-to-back games versus Boston College and Miami in February.
And in his lone start of the season versus Syracuse, he logged career highs in minutes and assists ending the game with 7 points and 9 assists in his 26 minutes played.
Jackson was a four-star prospect out of Christian Brothers high school in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was ranked the No. 90 player in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee only behind Brandon Miller according to On3’s Industry Ranking.

La Salle transfer Josh Nickelberry has committed to Florida State, he told On3.
The 6-foot-4 senior guard averaged 10.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 0.7 assists this season. He also shot 40.7 percent from the field and 40.1 percent from the three-point line. Nickelberry has spent the last two seasons at La Salle, but began his career at Louisville where he played sparingly for two seasons.
Nickelberry, a Fayetteville, N.C. native, discussed his commitment to the ‘Noles with On3.
“Coach Ham and I have a very strong relationship. I trust he wants what’s best for me and will prepare me for the next level. Most Importantly, he loves winning. I want to contribute to an ACC title.”
The Florida State Seminoles finished the 2022-23 season 12th in the ACC with an overall record of 9-23.
Nickelberry is a former four-star recruit and was the No. 97 overall player in the nation from the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
