Florida State has landed two key additions from the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

The Seminoles have added pledges from UTSA guard Justin Thomas, as well as from South Dakota guard Bostyn Holt. Both players have the kind of length coach Leonard Hamilton craves, checking in at 6 foot 7 in the backcourt.

The duo will offer some dynamic elements to the backfield, with a good deal of shooting.

Holt is coming off a season in which he averaged 12.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. A former Utah player, Holt spent just one season with the Coyotes after spending two with the Utes.

A terrific shooter, Holt shot 39.1% from 3-point range this season.

Thomas, on the other hand, is coming off a season in which he averaged 7.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. He shot an even more blistering 42.9% from 3-point range.

Both should help bolster a Florida State roster looking to make it back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2020-21 season.

Florida State loses Cam’Ron Fletcher to the portal

Florida State’s Cam’Ron Fletcher plans to enter his name into the transfer portal, per a tweet by Jon Rothstein at CBS Sports.

Fletcher just completed his third season with the Seminoles. That came after starting his career with one season at Kentucky.

Fletcher has appeared in 55 games in college, including 46 while in Tallahassee. However, he has appeared in just 17 games the past two years after injuring his right knee in consecutive seasons with one being a torn ACL in his junior year, which was on pace to be his best through 10 games. The second injury also ended his senior season this past year just seven games in. He also underwent a season-ending thumb surgery in his sophomore year

In his outings, Fletcher has averaged 6.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, and a steal while shooting 43.9% from the floor and 33.9% from three in 17 minutes per game. While with the ‘Noles, he posted 7.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, an assist, and a steal a game.

On3’s Sam Gillenwater also contributed to this report.
