Florida State LB DeMarco Ward enters NCAA Transfer Portal
Florida State linebacker DeMarco Ward has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. Ward is a former three-star recruit in the class of 2023. He was ranked as the No. 118 linebacker in the country that year, per the On3 Industry rankings.
The Georgia native played in nine games for the Seminoles this past season. He recorded 9 tackles, including 0.5 tackles for loss, as Florida State struggled to a 2-10 record.
DeMarco Ward appeared in two games while redshirting during the 2023 season as Florida State went 13-1, just missing out on a spot in the College Football Playoff. He attended Duluth High in Duluth, Georgia prior to signing with Florida State.
As a senior at Duluth, Ward recorded 74 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 2 sacks and a fumble recovery. Florida State has had several players enter the transfer portal since the conclusion of the 2024 season. That was to be expected after a disappointing year, which led to some staff changes.
The Seminoles are expected to be active in the transfer portal as Mike Norvell looks to build the roster back to contending status.

Florida State DL Tomiwa Durojaiye enters NCAA Transfer Portal
Another Florida State defender who entered the transfer portal recently is defensive lineman Tomiwa Durojaiye. Durojaiye entered the portal on Monday after previously playing at West Virginia and Kentucky.
Durojaiye has recorded 26 tackles and 4.5 sacks in his appearances in college. Most of that came in 13 games with the Mountaineers when he had 23 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
Durojaiye, a native of Delaware, played high school football at Middletown. He was the No. 679 overall recruit there as a theree-star prospect in the 2022 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also rated as a Top-100 DL in the class and the No. 3 player out of the state.
Now, with this decision, Durojaiye will look for a fourth program to play for in as many seasons for him.
