According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Florida State linebacker Omar Graham has withdrawn his name from the NCAA transfer portal. This means he will return to Tallahassee for the 2025 season, opting to play under head coach Mike Norvell. A rare case of returning after entering the portal has occurred for Graham and FSU.

Two programs were thought to be in pursuit of Graham while has was in the portal. Nakos previously reported visits to Kansas and Nebraska were lined up. Graham could have played in the Big 12 or Big Ten but chose against it, running it back after a disappointing year in Tallahassee.

In three seasons at Florida State, Graham has logged 60 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss, a sack, and three passes defended.

There was a brief stint this past year where injuries were a problem. Florida State was without the linebacker against Boston College and Memphis after getting back from Ireland. Graham was thankfully able to play through the rest of the year completely healthy.

When on the field, Graham was a starter for the Seminoles. Losing those types of players is never a good thing, even when the season was well below expectations. Florida State is able to keep somebody who understands what Norvell is looking for, even if Tony White is the program’s new defensive coordinator.

Despite being with the program for three years, two years of eligibility remain due to taking a redshirt as a true freshman during the 2022 season. Even so, he was able to play in three games and get some game time under his belt.

Prior to enrolling at Florida State, Graham was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 597 overall recruit in the 2022 recruiting class. He also checked in as the No. 61 linebacker in the class and the No. 82 overall player in the state of Florida, hailing from Fort Lauderdale (FL) Stranahan.
