Florida State OC Alex Atkins makes in-home visit to 4-star IOL commit Manasse Itete
Modesto (Calif.) Central Catholic four-star interior offensive lineman Manasse Itete flipped from USC to Florida State at the end of July. He’s been a part of the Seminoles’ class ever since.
With just over two weeks to go until National Signing Day, coaches are back out on the recruiting trail making in-home visits to top prospects around the country. For Itete, that meant a visit from Florida State offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Alex Atkins.
Atkins joined Florida State’s staff in 2020 as its offensive line coach, before also being elevated to offensive coordinator in 2022. He has helped put together a class consisting of four offensive linemen, including Itete.
Itete on his commitment to FSU
Itete flipped from USC after initially committing to the Trojans in early June. What Mike Norvell and his staff were building in Tallahassee played a key role in Itete’s decision.

“I believe coach Norvell, coach Atkins and the whole staff are building something unthinkable that will surprise a lot of people,” Itete said in July about his commitment. “Also, the relationship and love they always show me was unbelievable. I believe they will develop me on and off the field and my dreams will become true in a couple years.”
Itete is the nation’s No. 338 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the cycle’s No. 28 interior offensive lineman and No. 32 recruit from California.
Itete does not currently have a publicly listed On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
