Florida State pitcher Matt Sauser enters NCAA Transfer Portal

Florida State Seminoles right-handed pitcher Matt Sauser has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

Sauser’s biography on the Seminoles’ website reads as follows: Graduated from University High School in Normal, Illinois…2023 Perfect Game Preseason All-American…also played basketball and soccer in high school…helped lead U-High to a third place finish in the 2021 IHSA Playoffs…three-time First Team All-Conference…parents are Mike and Beth Sauser…brothers Luke and Jack…mom played basketball at DePaul and was inducted into the Blue Demons’ Athletics Hall of Fame in 2007…brother Jack played baseball at Northwestern from 2019-23…majoring in business…born on September 2, 2004.”

Long Beach State, former Tennessee pitcher Grant Cherry commits to Florida State

Former Long Beach State pitcher Grant Cherry has committed to Florida State out of the NCAA Transfer Portal, he announced on social media on Thursday. Cherry began his collegiate career at Tennessee

In two seasons at Long Beach State, Cherry made 33 appearances, primarily as a relief pitcher, posting a 4.93 ERA. He pitched just 3.1 innings during his freshman season at Tennessee before transferring. 

“Go Noles,” Cherry said in announcing his commitment.

Cherry has at least one year of eligibility remaining.
