Florida State QB Tate Rodemaker commits to Southern Miss
Florida State quarterback Tate Rodemaker is expected to transfer to Southern Miss, he announced on social media. He will have multiple years of eligibility remaining.
Rodemaker has been the backup for the Seminoles the past two seasons, starting in a number of key spots and picking up wins. He led Florida State to a victory in 2022 in a spot start and guided the Seminoles to a win against Florida after Jordan Travis’ injury before missing the ACC Championship Game with an injury of his own. He was in line to start for Florida State in the College Football Playoff, had the Seminoles made the field.
But when Florida State didn’t make the field and countless players opted out or transferred, Rodemaker joined the exodus and didn’t play in the Orange Bowl.
Rodemaker played high school football at Valdosta (Ga.) High School, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 684 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
