During fall camp, the Florida State Seminoles have been rotating a bunch of guys in and out on their offensive line. And while this may cause some individuals pause, quarterback Jordan Travis sees the silver lining in the offensive line rotations at camp. After practice on Tuesday, Travis discussed the depth it’s providing FSU’s offensive as they prepare for the start of the 2022 season.

“They’ve been playing great, really great. We’ve been rotating a lot. There’s been a lot of different guys in. We got Bryson (Estes) playing center every now, and then we got Thomas (Shrader) playing center every now and then,” said Travis. “It’s special that we’re giving these guys some reps early on; it’s a long season. We’re going to see a lot of different guys go in. So, I think they’re doing great; they’re doing a great job, coming to work every single day and pushing, giving everything they have, and giving 100 percent.”

The Seminoles’ offensive line will get a huge test to start the season when they head to New Orleans and face off against the LSU Tigers. If the Florida State align can survive the onslaught from the LSU defense, they should be able to put up a solid fight against their conference’s most dangerous defensive line in the Clemson Tigers.

Mycah Pittman compliments Florida State staff, takes shot at Joe Moorhead

When Mario Cristobal left Oregon in favor of the state of Florida, wide receiver Mycah Pittman decided to follow his head coach to the Sunshine State. However, they will be on opposite sidelines this season, with Pittman ending up with head coach Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles. Early on, he is not regretting his decision.

Pittman talked about the new offense he will be playing in while taking a shot at his old offensive coordinator, Joe Moorhead. He said Norvell is doing something an OC has never done for him before — put him in quality positions to make quality plays. Playing in the new offense and in Tallahassee is something Pittman is already enjoying.

“It’s definitely an explosive offense,” Pittman said. “There’s a lot of things that come with a great mind like Coach Norvell and Coach Atkins. There’s a lot of concepts, a lot of beaters that can be inverse. There’s a bunch of stuff that goes into this offense that I am glad to be a part of. I mean, you look back at Coach Norvell’s history with his receivers — he’s been so explosive with a lot of his guys and displayed a lot of their abilities.

“Coach Norvell and Coach Atkins has put me in positions to make plays in camp and they use my strengths. That’s something that’s new to me. I never really had an offensive coordinator that actually put me in a position to make a play that I’m actually capable of doing very frequently.”
