Mike Norvell confirms Tate Rodemaker is a game-day decision for ACC Championship
Florida State head coach Mike Norvell provided an update on quarterback Tate Rodemaker for Saturday’s ACC Championship Game against Louisville.
Speaking with reporters during the ACC Championship preview press conference on Friday, Norvell said that it will be a game-day decision as far as whether or not Rodemaker will be able to play against the Cardinals.
“Coming out of the game last week, you know, Tate obviously had the big hit there in the fourth quarter. Went over, was able to go through all of our sideline evaluations and was able to pass that to go back in the game for the last play that we had offensively,” Norvell said. “Came in Sunday, had a few symptoms of things. We started our process then and worked through it throughout the course of the week. He has been able to practice throughout the week in limited spots. But that’s something that’s going to go up until game day and we’ll continue on with our process of evaluation and see where it goes from there.”
Tate Rodemaker started last weekend’s game against Florida for the Seminoles, after star quarterback Jordan Travis suffered a devastating season-ending injury the previous week against North Alabama.
Now the Seminoles could be turning to true freshman Brock Glenn, who was rated as a three-star quarterback in the class of 2022.

Mike Norvell was asked how the team has prepared leading up to the ACC Championship with potentially three different QBs starting three different games in Jordan Travis, Tate Rodemaker and Brock Glenn.
“We’ve allowed all of those guys to be able to get work. Tate has gotten some work — a lot more individual than team. Brock has gotten the bulk of it, especially as we’ve gone through live situations,” Norvell said. “Tate has been there, he’s been in all the meetings. He’s gotten some work out there in practice. And then AJ Duffy has also gotten some reps with the different units.
“The game plan doesn’t have to change a whole lot. When you see Brock and his skillset that he brings through the week of practice, we’re all preparing to be able to play. And it’s the same thing we faced a week ago going into our last regular season game. He knew he was going to be one play away, and he had to be ready for that situation and he was. We’ve approached it the same way. We know the process we have to go through, and there are certain benchmarks we’ll go through and see as we lead up to game time and we’ll see where it’s at.”
