After a slow April and May when it came to commitments, Florida State is looking to close out July as one of the biggest movers in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

The Seminoles currently sit at No. 14, but are trending for three key prospects who have upcoming commitment dates and another who could come off the board at any time. Mike Norvell and Co. already have commitments from five-star tight end Landen Thomas, as well as top-100 running back Kam Davis and On3’s No. 3 quarterback, Luke Kromenhoek.

And July has already been kind, with commitments from four-star EDGE DD Holmes, four-star wide receiver Elijah Moore, and coveted three-star defensive backs Ricky Knight and Red Morgan.

Coming off one of the best seasons in recent memory on the field, Norvell has some momentum on the recruiting trail, and the ‘Noles are trending with three of the Sunshine State’s top prospects.

5-star CB Charles Lester III

School: Venice (Fla.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 20
On3 RPM: Florida State 90.8%, Colorado 2.7%, Georgia 1.6%, Alabama 1.3%

There has been no bigger target in the 2024 class for Florida State than Charles Lester, one of the nation’s elite cornerbacks. He took other visits to Colorado, Alabama and Georgia, but has publicly named the ‘Noles as his top school as recently as this summer. It would be a pretty epic shocker to not see him don the Garnet and Gold on his commitment date, July 28.

4-star OT Jonathan Daniels

School: Pensacola (Fla.) Pine Forest
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 116 (#47 in the On300)
On3 RPM: Florida State 94.2%, Georgia 1.7%

FSU’s class this cycle has been heavy on skill players, with just two linemen on either side of the ball committed. Norvell and Co. were in heavily on four-stars Jason Zandamela and Manasse Itete, both of whom committed to USC last month. Which makes landing Jonathan Daniels all the more important. Georgia and Kentucky are Daniels’ other two finalists, but the Bulldogs are done recruiting offensive linemen this cycle after landing a handful in June and July.

Daniels doesn’t have a commitment date locked in, but other sites have reported he could decide as soon as July 15.

4-star ATH Micahi Danzy

School: Tallahassee (Fla.) Florida State Univ. School
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 173
On3 RPM: Florida State 99.0%

With Micahi Danzy and the aforementioned Kam Davis, the Seminoles would have one of the nation’s top running back classes, with Danzy projected to play in the backfield at the next level. FSU has long been the frontrunner in his recruitment, and he said as much last month after his official visit. He is set to announce July 15.

On3 4-star CB Kevin Levy

School: West Palm Beach (Fla.) Cardinal Newman
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 619 (#177 in the On300)
On3 RPM: Florida State 98.2%

It has largely come down to in-state rivals Florida and Florida State for Kevin Levy, who is also set to announce his commitment on July 15. He took an official visit with the Seminoles last month though, and has since received two expert picks in FSU’s favor in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
