Florida State tight end Jerrale Powers has entered the NCAA transfer portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos.

Powers did not log any stats for the Seminoles in 2024 during his redshirt sophomore season. Before that, he made his collegiate debut in a 66-13 win vs. Southern Miss in 2023. As a true freshman in 2022, he worked with FSU’s scout team.

He will have two years of eligilbility remaining.

Before college, Powers was a three-star recruit in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 1,178 player in the class and No. 76 tight end.

Powers is the 10th Seminole to enter the NCAA transfer portal after Florida State finsihed the 2024 season with a 2-10 record. He is also the third tight end to enter the portal on the FSU roster, joining Brian Courtney and Jackson West.

West did not record any stats this season, which Courtney caught one pass for three yards this season. Only one receiver, Ja’Khi Douglas, managed to surpass 500 yards receiving on the season as Florida State had to play three quarterbacks throughout the season.

The Seminoles will look to get back to their traditional winning ways beginning in 2025. That begins this offseason with aquiring talent from the transfer portal.

The portal officially opened on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024. More than 2,800 FBS scholarship players entered their names into the NCAA’s transfer database during the 2023-24 school year. Removing those who withdrew or went pro, the final total sat at 2,707 transfers.

That means roughly 25 percent of all FBS scholarship players hit free agency in one year, per On3’s Pete Nakos.
